Be ready when opportunity comes.
Productions often work under tight deadlines. Keeping your residency information complete means one less step between being selected and getting to set.
Your Privacy
We only collect the information needed to help productions cast and hire background performers.
Your Security
Your information is encrypted, stored securely, and protected using modern security practices.
Our Responsibility
Protecting your information isn’t a feature—it’s part of how we operate every day.
Now you can apply directly to projects that are posted on the site by a variety of casting companies. Before applying to a project it’s best to thoroughly read through the project description.
The project description is a place where casting professionals can include important information about a project such as: locations, dates, role requirements, resident eligibility, and other information. Reading these descriptions ensures that you have the most information possible before applying to roles.
We use modern security practices to help keep your information safe, including encrypted storage, secure connections, and access controls designed to protect your data. We continually review and improve our security as our platform grows.
Only authorized members of casting teams, productions, or payroll administrators who need your information to support your booking or payment can access it. Access is limited to the information required for their role, and only for legitimate production purposes.
No. We never sell your personal information.
Some productions require residency documentation to support provincial film and television tax credit programs. These documents can also help productions and payroll administrators verify eligibility and process payments more efficiently.
Keeping your residency information up to date helps make you booking-ready. When productions know your paperwork is complete and available, they can move more quickly through the hiring process without having to request additional documentation at the last minute.
If you choose to upload residency documents, they are stored securely and are only shared with the productions or payroll providers involved in your booking, or where required to support tax credit or payroll processes.
Productions may ask for identification to confirm your identity, verify residency requirements, and ensure your information is accurate for payroll and production records. Providing these documents through Background Work helps reduce paperwork, speeds up onboarding, and means you don’t have to submit the same information repeatedly for every production.
